Day 24: Holy Hill Farm, U.S.S. Constitution and U.S.S. Cassin Young, Dinner with Jill and Derek
One of my favorite things about this trip is the kids getting to know their extended family. Bekah had so much fun reading to her second cousin Natalie. The boys spent a bit of time this morning playing with Uncle Jay's army men.
This morning we went to Holy Hill farm. This is an organic farm in Cohasset where a friend (Cyndi) of Grandma Gayle's works. The kids loved the pony, Pumpkin, the horse, Nugget, and the Donkey, Benji.
The farm has so many different gardens! This one was a student garden. The produce goes to a local food bank.
This farm has been around for a very long time. This used to be the ice pond! The boys had so much fun looking for frogs and turtles. There were so many! They were hoping to find salamanders but didn't have any luck. It was such a beautiful day at the farm.
We then headed into Boston to see the Naval Yard, and particularly the U.S.S. Constitution and the U.S.S. Cassin Young. This is another National Historic Park, yay! That means that entry (other than parking) was free, and they had a Junior Ranger program. On the way there we found this wonderful mist machine. It was a HOT day, so this felt wonderful!
The dry dock was so amazing!
After leaving Boston, we headed to cousin Jill and Derek's house. The kids had a blast swimming again and the ribs were delicious!
These clouds definitely signaled a change in the weather. A storm came up that night!
