Day 17: Scenic Conway Notch Train
Today we went on the Scenic Conway Notch Train. It was a beautiful five hour trip to a lovely lake and the elephant rock formation (although I didn't really think it looked like an elephant). We met a lovely couple from the Albany area who invited all of us to come to stay with them! On our way back they graciously shared a coke with us!
It's hard to tell from this picture, but we were really high up here. If you look closely, there is a man down in the picture.
The views were amazing. We were in coach class, which is open air windows. It ended up being better than first class because the air conditioning wasn't working there and they didn't have a breeze! It was fine when we were moving, but warm when we stopped.
At our stop, we got out and walked around this lake. The conductor said it would be about a 20-minute walk (thankfully it was, we didn't want to miss the train back).
I love the different flora here!
On our way back, the same man who told us about the lake, let me hang out of the side between the cars to get some photos (we were stopped). It was fun to get the large clear view!
Ice cream treat and much needed water before heading back to our temporary home.
Gorgeous photos! It is so green!
