Day 16: A bit of relaxing

Today's goal was to sleep in, we succeeded!  We had a yummy breakfast at a pancake house called Flapjacks across the street from where we are staying.  They had delicious strawberry and raspberry pancakes.  They had a train going along the ceiling that captivated Joey.

In the early afternoon the boys ( and then the rest of the kids) were able to do what they have been needing to do, play!  They spent two hours playing in the river, building dams, and swimming.  The landscape is beautiful.  We are staying in the White Mountain Range.  I don't know all of the types of trees, but I love the birches!  One thing we are avoiding is poison ivy!  I'm not used to seeing that around!

I love these happy faces.  I was SO glad that these boys could get some of their energy out!

Joey was super excited to find a rock that was shaped like a heart.  Jeremiah and Papa Dave also examined the rocks.  Evidently, New Hampshire is the granite state.

King size bed gives plenty of room for three boys to relax.
We ate dinner at an amazing Italian restaurant called the Italian Farmhouse before we went grocery shopping.  The restaurant is one of 18 owned by a man in New Hampshire.  He seeks out historic buildings for his restaurants.  This one had delicious food and the environment was so fun!  The boys tried chess with this salt and pepper chess set while waiting.

The kid's meal had a mad lib, and Joey was super proud of his story.
They also decorated their to go boxes with funny little quips!

On our way to the grocery store, we found a covered bridge!  We all got out to take a picture (although not everyone was thrilled about that).
Beautiful flowers on the side of the road.
