Day 10: Michigan Capitol Building, Frankenmuth, Dinner with Family
These pictures are evidence of the fun we've been having. He woke up, came downstairs, found himself a blanket, and went back to sleep. He continued to sleep after everyone else was up and eating breakfast!
Today we visited the Michigan Capitol building in Lansing. It was a beautiful building designed by the same architect as the Texas and Colorado capitol buildings. The architect and builders were very proud of the minimalistic budget used to build the building. Most of the decorations in this capitol building are painted. The walls are covered with painted details, as opposed to some of the more ornate features of other buildings.
One unique feature of this capitol building is the glass floor you can see in the above picture. The glass is only 5/8 inches thick! This is the first floor of the rotunda and truly has a beautiful effect.
After the capitol building, we went to Bronner Christmas Store in Frankenmuth. According to google, this is the largest Christmas store in the world. This store was massive!
Joey is on the search for a $1.00 snow globe. He loved this one, with it's music and rotating train, but it's $130 price tag was a bit much.
We thought of how much the Koups would LOVE this store! So many pieces they could add to their village!
We went to Aunt Debi and Uncle Al's house for dinner. We had a wonderful dinner and great time chatting together after dinner.
Yeah! I can finally post again! For some reason it wasn't working before. It looks like you are having a wonderful time with all of the cousins! I know they will be spoiling you and having a great time too!
