Day 54: Trying things again, Visiting Marysville

The dome.  This is pretty near where we started our trip, and where we needed to conquer a few fears.  At the beginning of the trip, half of us made it to the top.  Jeremiah wanted to conquer the dome though, so we returned to Topeka just for that purpose.  Once everyone committed, we added Dairy Queen to the pot.  We told them if they reached the top, they would get blizzards, a MAJOR treat!  This dome is seriously no joke, and I was terrified as we got up to the hanging staircase and in to the spiral, but EVERYONE made it to the top!
After the capitol building, we headed to Marysville, Kansas to see where Grandpa Bob grew up.  On the way, we found the house that crushed the Wicked Witch of the West.
It was so fun following the California/Oregon Trail!
 Great Papa's house!
 Original Pony Express barn
We visited the Union Pacific train depot where my great grandfather worked.
When we visited this statue a guy pulled over in his truck and asked us if we were from out of town. Clearly we stood out!  Where this statue stands, and to the left in the picture are where the train originally ran through the town.  About ten years ago, the Union Pacific moved the tracks.
